Candidate Qualifying Period begins at Noon, June 8 and ends at Noon, June 12

The 2026 City of Bonita Springs General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in conjunction with the Lee County General Election, for the election of the following City Council District representatives:

Council Member – District 1
Council Member – District 3
Council Member – District 5 

The City Clerk serves as the Candidate Qualifying Officer for Bonita Springs Municipal Elections.

Candidate Qualifying Period:

The Candidate Qualifying Period begins at Noon, Monday, June 8, 2026 and ends at Noon, Friday, June 12, 2026. All required documentation, qualifying forms (fully completed and signed), and applicable fees must be physically received by the City Clerk by the close of the qualifying period:

To qualify as a candidate, individuals must:

-Meet all qualifying requirements set forth in the City Charter and Florida Law.

-Be a legal resident and elector of the council district they seek to represent. 

-Submit the following to the City Clerk by the close of the qualifying period: All required documents and qualifying forms (fully completed and signed), proof of residency and voter registration, and applicable fees. Candidate qualifying forms are available at the City Clerk’s office and on the websites of the Florida Division of Elections and the Lee County Supervisor of Elections.
