Anchored by George Balanchine's Piano Concerto No. 2 , originally choreographed as Ballet Imperial , the work evokes the grandeur of Imperial St. Petersburg while showcasing Tchaikovsky's brilliance with clarity and elegance. The program then turns to the contemporary vision of three-time Tony Award-winning choreographer Justin Peck, featuring a highly anticipated world premiere alongside his abstract interpretation of Aaron Copland's music in Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes .
