The Soldier’s Tale presented by Fort Myers Philharmonic

Step into one of the most inventive theatrical works ever written as Igor Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale comes vividly to life in A Soldier’s Date with the Devil. Blending chamber music, theater, dance, and storytelling, this captivating production follows a soldier whose fateful bargain with the devil leads to an unforgettable journey filled with wit, temptation, consequence, and surprise. Performed by a chamber ensemble with actors and a dancer, the production offers audiences far more than a traditional concert while preserving the rhythmic energy and razor-sharp character of Stravinsky’s celebrated score. More than a century after its premiere, The Soldier’s Tale remains daring, theatrical, and immediate, making this a distinctive Fort Myers Philharmonic experience for longtime classical-music patrons and adventurous newcomers alike.
